- Performs routine and non-routine engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems.
- Solves a range of straightforward problems, analyzes solutions and assesses each using standard procedures.
- Receives assistance and instructions on unusual or more complex features and possible solutions, as needed.
- Ensures compliance with government, organization and customer engineering standards.
- Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications.
- Builds knowledge of organization processes and customers.
- Works on special projects, as directed.
- Performs other related duties and tasks, as required.
- Utilizes existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product life cycle/replacement of current Framatome technologies.
- Actively participates in solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management or by customer request with the objective to increase business opportunities for Framatome Canada Ltd.
- Implement instrumentation and control (I&C) system architecture solutions for nuclear power plant applications.
- Design process control solutions using various DCS/PLC/SCADA platforms such as Triconex, Foxboro DCS, Wonderware/Aveva, TXS, Siemens, National Instruments/Labview.
- Lead team preparing detailed application, system, and hardware specifications based on project requirements.
- Develop software design documents, requirement documentation, and test specifications
- Solve a range of complex problems, analyze solutions, and assess each using standard procedures with minimal oversight.
- Plan, organize, and implement a solution to address client's need ensuring compliance with government, organization, and customer engineering standards.
- Lead plant site work - start-up and commissioning.
- Bachelor’s Degree (4 years) in Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Registered Professional Engineering License (P. Eng.).
- Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
- Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
- Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Good problem identification and problem resolution skills.
- Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking.
- Advanced level of specific software tools and programming skills.
- Salary: $99,000 - $110,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
