- Partner directly with client payroll, HR, and finance stakeholders to understand business requirements, legislative considerations, and operational processes.
- Facilitate working sessions to design and configure Workday Payroll solutions that align with both business needs and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure payroll integrates seamlessly with Time, Absence, Benefits, and downstream financial systems.
- Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and work closely with the Project Manager to escalate and resolve challenges while maintaining timeline integrity.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Canadian payroll operations, including payroll data management, reconciliation, and compliance.
- Strong understanding of HR, payroll, and benefits data structures, business processes, and upstream/downstream system impacts.
- Holds a Canadian Payroll Association designation (PCP or CPM) or is actively pursuing certification.
- Experience supporting or implementing Workday Payroll or comparable cloud-based payroll solutions preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of provincial and federal payroll legislation, including statutory reporting and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to analyze complex payroll scenarios and translate requirements into accurate system configurations and process solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risk, troubleshoot issues, and drive resolution in a client-facing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced project setting.
- Recognized for strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and a commitment to compliance, accuracy, and continuous process improvement.
