DescriptionJob Summary: Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, the FP&A Manager will be responsible for Summit Aviation Group's budgeting, forecasting, and analysis activities.   • Lead annual operating and capital budgeting process; works with department managers and Summit Finance teams to understand, challenge, and update assumptions and inputs in budget templates
  • Prepare consolidated weekly flash reports by updating forecasting assumptions from department managers; compares actual results to forecast, and prepares variance commentary
  • Work with Summit Finance team to understand budget vs. actual departmental and fleet profitability variances; prepares commentary for inclusion in monthly management reporting and Board reporting packages
  • Prepares monthly management reporting and Board packages
  • Prepares various operational reporting deliverables
Process Improvements (15%)
  • Understand Operations and Financial systems and underlying data sources; ensure data can be relied on for analysis
  • Work closely with the Senior Financial Analyst to update budget and forecasting templates to enhance accuracy and efficiency, and implement new reporting and decision-making tools such as dashboards
Business Support (25%)
  • Provide decision making analysis and support to senior leadership as required, including preparation of ad-hoc business cases
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, ideally with a combination of both public practice and industry background
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage accounting experience and business acumen to provide value added insights to businesses
  • Excellent business communication skills to prepare management and Board reporting deliverables
  • Strong experience in analysis, evaluation and recommendations for business plans to drive improved results
  • Track record of successfully leading, mentoring, and developing teams
  • Experience working with JD Edwards ERP software will be of distinct advantage
  • Applicants with previous aviation industry or other capital-intensive industry experience is also highly desirable but not essential
  • High level of proficiency in all MS Office programs with ability to manipulate and analyze large amounts of data and perform advanced functions within Excel.
  • Familiarity with PowerBI is also nice to have
Working Conditions:
  • This position will be work from home with 1-2 days per week in office
  • Travel to Summit bases may be required from time to time within Canada
