Experience Level: Senior / LeadershipWe’re working with a growing building engineering consultancy that’s looking to bring on a Team Lead Electrical Designer / Engineer. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys leading a team while staying hands-on with design and technical work.You’ll play a key role in delivering projects, mentoring team members, and building strong client relationships across a diverse mix of projects. It’s an opportunity to step into a leadership position while still being closely involved in the technical side of the work.What you’ll be doing:
- Lead multiple electrical design projects from concept through construction
- Provide technical oversight and ensure quality across designs and documentation
- Mentor and support junior and intermediate designers and engineers
- Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and reports
- Coordinate with mechanical, structural, architectural, and civil teams
- Attend client meetings, site visits, and support construction coordination
- Assist with contract administration, including shop drawing and site reviews
- Support project planning, scheduling, and budgeting
- Contribute to team growth, hiring, and improving internal processes
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- 7 to 10+ years of experience in building consulting engineering
- Strong experience in electrical systems design, including power, lighting, and emergency systems
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor team members
- Strong communication skills and client-facing experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- P.Eng. designation or working toward it, or CET with strong consulting experience
- Experience in healthcare, institutional, commercial, or multi-residential projects
- Exposure to business development, proposals, or team growth initiatives
