- Lead and manage unionized hourly personnel.
- Carry out Company practice/policy in the areas of work expectation, discipline, training, and personnel administration.
- Responsible for delivering objectives related to Safety, Cleanliness, Quality, Cost and Productivity.
- Encourage a positive working relationship with UNIFOR employees and Leadership, including fair and equal administration of the contract.
- Calculate daily labor hour requirements to ensure proper utilization of manpower (including any overtime and vacation).
- Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work.
- Create a conducive work environment for employees to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks.
- Support Continuous Improvement and coach problem resolution to the lowest level.
- Build employee capability, communication & recognition.
- Responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility.
- Ensure proper material flow from receiving dock, to warehouse storage location, to the delivery of product to customers.
- Provide direction and support in the allocation of resources in order to appropriately cover material handling responsibilities.
- Ensure flawless flow of parts through proactive planning and cross-functional communication.
- College Diploma or equivalent. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).
- Currently, the opening is afternoon shift however, ability to work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends is required.
- Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in Ford Truths (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, Packaging Engineering, or Business Management. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).
- 3 years of experience in Manufacturing or warehousing environment with unionized workforce.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Exceptional organizational and administrative skills.
- Safety and MP&L experience preferred.
- Knowledge of constraint management principles.
- Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook).
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Effective problem-solving and conflict management skills.
