We are currently seeking a compassionate and patient Personal Support Worker (PSW) for a part-time role assisting my mother. This role is an immediate start and will require the successful candidate to be available on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings, with working hours ranging from 15 to 20 hours per week. My mother is a warm-hearted woman suffering from Alzheimer's, osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes, vision loss, and skin cancer. Yet, her spirit remains bright and full of life. The ideal candidate would need to have experience, or be willing to assist individuals with these conditions. In our lively household, we have a number of residents including pets. My father is at home, yet requires help in caring for my mom. Apart from my parents, the house is shared by me, my husband, our two children, as well as my mother-in-law and brother-in-law (who live in a trailer, but often visit the main house). We also have a friendly, albeit blind dog who sometimes gets overly excited around guests, and two cats. Key responsibilities for this role will include: - Ensuring my mom is wearing her compression socks - Overseeing that her oral hygiene is maintained i.e., brush teeth - Checking her blood sugar levels regularly - Assisting with seated exercises - Planning and preparing lunch meals - Helping with memory activities - Going on walks, weather permitting - Possibly escorting my mom to medical appointments The successful candidate will possess strong English communication skills, and should also have undergone Vulnerability Sector Checks, plus have updated First Aid and CPR certifications. Although the role does not necessitate having a driver's license, the use of one's own car is deemed essential because we are located in a rural area To apply for this role, kindly forward your resume depicting your past experiences in similar roles, along with any qualifications or credentials you might possess. This position is not a live-in role and on a part time basis Thank you for considering this opportunity. We cherish our mom immensely and we hope to find someone who will show her nothing but kindness, patience, and exceptional care.MoreSalary: Negotiable, based on experienceLess than 20 hours/weekScheduleDesired start date immediatelyMorningAfternoonEveningOvernightMTWThFSaSuCaregiver is responsible forProfessional skillsMeal Planning / PreparationEscort to AppointmentsPlan Visits, Outings, & Trips to Visit Neighbours, Friends, FamilyAlzheimer/Dementia CareDressing Grooming assistanceRange of Motion ExerciseWilling to work with or have experience withWork with diagnosesAlzheimer'sDementiaDiabetesOsteoporosisVisual ImpairmentArthritisAdditional requirementsNot Applicable Active: Today • Member since: March 2026Address
