Looking for a great place to raise a family? We have a diverse selection of quality schools.We are in great need of locum GIM support at qathet General Hospital (Powell River). We are a 33 bed hospital, with a 4 bed ICU located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast serving a population of just over 20,000. We currently provide 24/7 IM and ICU coverage with 3 internists, but will be down to only 2 internists providing call services starting January 2024. While we await a new hire, we can continue providing weekday coverage, but at this time are urgently looking for any locum support to cover Friday/Saturday/Sundays.Typical call days can see between 2-5 consults from the ward and emergency room, including cardiac patients (ACS, thrombolysing STEMI’s, arrhythmias etc.), critically ill patients (sepsis/pressors, patients requiring intubation etc.), as well as seeing TIA/strokes including thrombolysing hot strokes, in addition to usual GIM array of consults. You will be supported with local GP Anesthesiology for airway management, as well as local ERP support.VCH is offering a guaranteed daily income of $3200/24 hrs with travel and accommodation reimbursement. You can get here via short 30 minute flights with either Pacific Coastal (YVR South terminal) or via Harbour Air Seaplane from downtown Vancouver. Alternatively we are a 6 hour total travel time by road/2 ferries via Horseshoe Bay.   • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
