You drive it.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESPosition Summary:As a Sushi Cook at YYZ Airport, you will need the ability to perform all duties and serve in whatever capacity needed by the business as determined by the manager or chef. Responsible for the preparation of all food items at the station according to specifications and pre-set time limits. Orders ingredients as directed. Pay rate $22.28 hourlyResponsibilities:Follows standard preparation and cooking procedures of the assigned facility as designated by the manager or chefFollows all recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurantCoordinates the delivery of all foods within pre-set time standardsDemonstrates product standards and recipe knowledge dailySets up, maintains side work, and/or closes stations for scheduled shift (e.g., checks and/or breaks down and cleans equipment, preps all appropriate food items, stocks all food items and small wares, dates food items and stores according to "first in, first out" rotation method, etc.)Prepares and plates station food items according to specifications and pre-set time limitsEnsures safety and sanitation standards are maintainedProperly uses personal protective equipmentMaintains a clean, neat, well-groomed appearanceResponds to all "callbacks" and "echos" to ensure ordered food is prepared on timeMaintain the proper pH for rice and document it in the pH logEnsures hot food stays hot and cold food stays coldRecords all waste on the standard form when it occursCommunicates any product runouts, equipment issues, and quality of service problems to the MOD immediatelyWelcomes and acknowledges guests according to company standards, when applicableAssists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areasOrder ingredients and supplies as directed by the manager or chefCleans, sanitizes, and organizes all kitchen areas, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas according to OTG specificationsDevelops and maintains positive working relationships with others and works toward the goal of customer satisfactionEnsures adherence to quality expectations and standardsPerforms additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the chef or manager at any timeQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSRelevant experience in Japanese-style cookingRelevant experience working in a sushi restaurantOTG Concessions Management, LLC and its subsidiaries and affiliates are proud to be an equal-opportunity workplace and employer.
