THE OPPORTUNITYWestern Forest Products is currently hiring for Production Labourers at our sites in Chemainus, Cowichan Bay and Ladysmith, BC! We have multiple positions available at each location.Current Opportunities:
  • Value Added Division, Chemainus, BC
  • Cowichan Bay Sawmill, Cowichan Bay, BC
  • Saltair Sawmill Division, Ladysmith, BC
What We Offer:
  • Unionized wage rates ranging between $24.91 - $33.35, depending on location;
  • Hourly premiums of $0.60/hour on shifts that are outside the recognized day shift;

Shifts: Monday to Friday - day, afternoon shifts.
  • Production employees are required to work a variety of shifts and may begin on an on-call basis until a full-time position becomes available.
These positions are considered safety sensitive, all successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment drug test (which includes marijuana).RESPONSIBILITIES
  • All employees will start in general labour or cleanup positions, and then progress from there into a variety of roles including machine operators.
  • All employees must maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Supporting other areas of the operations as needed.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience
  • It would be an asset to have previous experience in a safety-sensitive environment (trades-related or an industrial environment), but not necessary. We will train people without this background if they have the right attitude and want to learn!
  • First Aid/WHMIS is an asset – preference is always given to candidates who have OFA 3.
