Hood Packaging is currently recruiting for a Machine Operator Trainee for our Calgary Plastics location.As a key member of the Production team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently which includes the operation of extrusion lines producing minimum waste and work safely at all times. The overall goal is to maximize production while minimizing waste.The successful candidate must have a high school diploma, possess a strong mechanical aptitude, be team oriented, capable of lifting 20-30 kgs. on a frequent basis, and perform their work in a safe manner. This is a high-energy position and previous machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment is a definite asset. Must be able to work continental 12 hour shifts on a rotation. (2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights and every second weekend, 7am-7pm/7pm-7am)Starting rate is $25.63 per hour plus shift premiums for nights and weekend. Scheduled step increase after probation to $29.06 per hour and step increases thereafter at 6, 18, 36 months and annually each year.This permanent full-time position is continental rotating shift work that includes nights and weekends.
