The role of the Procurement Analyst is to ensure the consistent availability of ingredients for production facilities, managing day-to-day procurement functions. This position involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including Supply Management and Formulation teams, to meet customer requirements. Reporting to the General Manager, the Procurement Analyst strongly collaborates with a diverse group of colleagues, (incl. Supply Chain, Formulation) and external ingredient suppliers. The analyst actively contributes to the optimization of purchasing activities, ensuring cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials. You'll be at the forefront of the grain market, ensuring competitive pricing and timely acquisitions. But that's not all – we're seeking someone who goes beyond the surface, delving deep into discrepancies, identifying cost leakages, and uncovering efficiency opportunities.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESReporting to the General Manager, the Procurement Specialist works closely with our supply chain, and actively contributes to the optimization of purchasing activities, ensuring cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials. We count on your expertise to collaborate within the organization and with external suppliers, striking a balance between operational efficiency and strategic procurement.
  • Assist with ingredient procurement by determining requirements and purchasing ingredients.
  • Maintain contract position reports and update system purchase agreements in the ERP system.
  • Oversee Purchasing's responsibilities in Nutrace, including maintaining and updating standard operating procedures and product spec sheets.
  • Administer new ingredient and supplier administration, including correspondence, form completion, and data entry into the ERP system.
  • Manage the protein claims program, collaborating with QA and suppliers for low protein claims.
  • Address quality issues with ingredients, monitor supplier performance, verify shipping documents, communicate with customs brokers, provide support to the Procurement team, investigate discrepancies, participate in meetings, run procurement reports, and reconcile discrepancies. Additionally, perform any other assigned duties as needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in Procurement, Customer Service, Sales, or Supply Chain
  • Well-developed computer skills (MS Office programs), database management, and a strong mathematical aptitude

  • PowerBI or similar reporting software an asset.
  • Experience with large ERP systems, manufacturing, freight considered an asset.
