Cordelio has more than 1,200 MW of renewable power assets under management in Canada and the United States, and a growth pipeline of over 18,000 MW of wind, solar and storage projects.With offices in Toronto, Vancouver, New York, Chicago, and Portland (Maine), Cordelio’s operations and growth activities are performed with a view toward working with all stakeholders in an efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible manner.Job DescriptionPosition OverviewThe Manager, Development is responsible for managing the development of projects within Cordelio’s portfolio, with a primary focus on wind located in the Pacific northwest.Reporting to the Senior Director, Development, this role is best suited for a person with a strong track record in wind, solar, and/or storage development looking to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment. Cordelio will also consider candidates with transferable skills from other resource industries, who wish to join the rapidly evolving renewable energy industry.This role is available to eligible US and Canadian based candidates with in-office or remote accommodations.ResponsibilitiesCreate and execute project development plans to meet project objectives, including cost, schedule, and resources.Select and manage development contractors and consultants. * Manage and coordinate a team to lead all aspects of project development, including:
  • Energy and technical assessments.
  • Local, state and federal permitting.
  • Land acquisition and title curative work.
  • Commercial and technical aspects of project interconnection.
  • Environmental assessments.
  • Stakeholder consultation and management.
  • Off-take origination and power marketing.
  • Project technical design and infrastructure siting.
  • Construction contractor selection and contracting.
  • Equipment procurement and commercial negotiation.
Lead greenfield land campaigns, including organizing and managing land agents, regularly meeting with landowners and local stakeholders, and establishing Cordelio’s presence in the community.Oversee development work performed by joint venture and partner developers.Identify or originate new growth opportunities, including targeted areas for greenfield development.Perform and lead due diligence review of prospective wind, solar and/or storage development asset acquisitions.Represent Cordelio at industry associations meetings and events and track relevant industry led policy initiatives;Support project finance, offtake RFP and permitting submissions, and project acquisition efforts.Skills & RequirementsStrong track record of successful development of US and/or Canada based wind, solar or storage projects, with a preference for experience in wind and development in WECC.Strong personnel management skills with proven ability to work well in teams.Ability to effectively communicate (by phone, in writing, and in person) with landowners, community organizations, public officials, and other key stakeholders to build project support and represent Cordelio Power. Public speaking experience a plus.Proven ability to work independently as well as with a team, under pressure and with time sensitive deadlines.Experience managing and interacting with remote and/or indirect internal and external resources, including consultants and contractors.Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.Possesses self-starter qualities with the ability to work independently with minimal direction and time sensitive deadlines.Ability to prioritize several concurrent tasks in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.Valid North American driver’s license.Additional Success FactorsDemonstrated flexibility and ability to scale and take on increasing responsibility as Cordelio grows.Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.Strong analytical skills with demonstrated impact in previous roles.Industry experience desirable, but not required. ​​​​Travel Requirements
  • Up to 25-50% primarily domestically (U.S. and Canada). Includes travel to remote project locations, contractor offices/facilities, company offices and events, and technical conferences.
Location
  • This role is expected to be remote/telecommute/work-from-home but may have the option to relocate to an existing or future U.S. office.

  • The compensation range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000 per year. Exact compensation will be determined by Cordelio and depends upon experience.
