- Support Instrumentation engineering and design team and provide their design output with respect to quality, cost, and schedule requirements for specific projects.
- Support the Technical Integrity role for the Instrumentation discipline.
- Ensure all engineering and design work performed adjusts to quality, cost and schedule requirements.
- Ensure all design work is safe and carried out in a safe manner.
- Ensure all design work conforms to the codes and standards used by the client, or to agreed industry standards.
- Prepare Design Change Notice Packages for I&C modifications, address design related field issues.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including technical specifications, data sheets, Elementary Wiring Diagrams, Connection Wiring Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams.
- Provide active support to field issues and Field Initiated Changes and facilitate a positive outcome with construction teams.
- Knowledge of MCC, Control system design, control computers, controllers, Digital Control System (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), field instrumentation, etc.
- Interface with construction/procurement partners and utility stakeholders, throughout the lifecycle of the design project.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter: ability to work under pressure and be team player.
- Ability to work in complex projects involving multiple disciplines.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize assigned work and to coordinate multiple activities efficiently.
- Must be committed to producing timely and high-quality technical work.
- Relevant experience in Electrical / I&C design is required.
- Experience with Nuclear is considered necessary. In depth knowledge and experience of use of appropriate nuclear codes and standards.
- Good time management skills and demonstrated capability to interface effectively with customers.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements is an asset.
- Required specialized experience in nuclear industry.
- A Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Electrical/I&C Engineering (or equivalent) is required.
- P. Eng (Ontario) designation preferred or to be able to register.
