OverviewLafarge Canada Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of quality products for the construction industry. We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a permanent, full-time position at our Regina Cement Terminal as a Terminal Assistant.Responsibilities:Actively participate in and operate within the terminal Safety Program in compliance with Lafarge Canada Inc's and mandatory safety and environmental policiesUnload bulk railcars and load bulk semi-trucksOperation and daily maintenance of rail unloading and bulk truck loading equipmentOperate a forklift to load and unload packaged cementGeneral labour related duties and cleanupSupervise and direct contractors on site, when requiredSupervision and direction of truck/railway carriers' activities on siteParticipate in shared inventory controlTerminal HousekeepingOther associated duties that the employee is trained in-house or by requirement forAbility to work overtime and willing to work shift work if required.Qualifications:Education:High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent with postsecondary/trade school completion or classes an assetExperience and Skill Set:High school diploma or equivalent with postsecondary/trade school completion/classes an assetDemonstrates commitment to safety for oneself and othersMechanical aptitude and understanding a key attributeTime and self-management skills as part of a team or independentlyPhysically fit to encompass labor requirements of roleDemonstrate strong skills in problem solving, decision making and multi-taskingComputer literacy/ability: including Excel, Word programs a benefitValid class 5 driver's licenseUnderstanding of building materials industry, including cement product knowledge an assetLafarge is an equal opportunity employer.
