Your Opportunity:The Physiotherapist II is a key member of the centralized Allied Health & Patient Experience team at Alberta Hospital Edmonton. The Physiotherapist supports individuals with a variety of acute and chronic physical conditions, while supporting group preventative injury and chronic disease management programs. This position involves individualized assessments for a variety of physical health conditions including Orthopedic, Respiratory and Neurological conditions and their associated treatment interventions. The PT II co-facilitates with Recreation Therapy and Occupational Therapy collaborative group programming to address patient holistic and recovery-oriented goals. In conjunction with the physical aspects of Physiotherapy, a large and meaningful aspect of the job is to have compassion, empathy and understanding for individuals managing Mental Health & Addictions and having a willingness to meet the clients where they are both physically and mentally.Description:As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. AHS is dedicated to supporting our Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skillsets regardless of location. All AHS Physiotherapists have access to a list of experienced clinicians across the province and are able to tap into this resource via email, phone and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) you will also be able to share patient information real time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high quality care.

Required Qualifications:Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta. Additional Required Qualifications:Current Heart & Stroke Foundation Basic Life Skills (CPR). Preferred Qualifications:Connect Care, Knowledge of LOCUS, working within a rehabilitative and recovery orientated framework.
