Each one is made to help people recognize their potential, make the tough choices required to change, and live the impossible.We are looking to amplify our impact and are currently looking for a Freelance Thumbnail DesignerJob DescriptionThe Lifestories Thumbnail Designer will be responsible for designing video thumbnails for the Life Stories YouTube Studio.What you will do:This role will be a collaborative position. The designer will be expected to take direction from a managing lead, but should also be able to work creatively and independently as the individual projects call for. Projects run on tight deadlines and the designer should be communicative, reliable, and have a passion for telling stories through the creation of imagery. The designer should be proficient in Adobe Photoshop, creative, and have a talent for problem solving.What you will bring:The designer is responsible for working across two of the Life Stories thumbnails initiatives: * Clips Initiative - This project is centered around curating our longer videos into shorter segments and uploading them to our shorts channel and creating thumbnails based on the individual segments of the longer video.
  • Re-packaging Initiative - As part of keeping the performance of older, long form videos healthy we will be repackaging videos from the past with an older design to a more modern and refined style.
Average Project Workflow:Step One: The Designer will have a preliminary meeting with the managing lead that lasts up to 1 hour. The lead and designer will discuss the concept, theme, characters, and visual style of the expected final thumbnail. Time allowing, the manager and designer will spend a portion of the initial meeting sourcing primary images for the design.Step Two: After the initial meeting with the managing lead the designer has approximately 1-2 days to complete the first draft of the design. At this point the designer and the lead will communicate with each other, either over zoom or slack to discuss any small changes that may be needed for the final design.Step Three: The designer will take any minor notes from the previous step to complete a final draft. This step of the process may include between 1-2 rounds of minor revisions.All thumbnails should be completed no later than 4-5 days after first being assigned.
