We have people working all over the world, including Canada, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and more!As the Corporate Controller, you will oversee high-level financial and managerial accounting for Benevity, supervising accounting operations from payroll to tax compliance. The position will report to the CFO and will assist with the development of internal control policies, accounting policies, procedures, and financial planning as needed.What you'll do:Financial Reporting and Compliance
  • Oversee preparation of financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) per GAAP, including subscription revenue, deferred revenue, and expenses
  • Ensure compliance with all levels of government reporting requirements and tax filings
Internal Controls and Processes
  • Develop and maintain internal controls for accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting policies
  • Implement best practices and technology to automate and streamline financial processes
Manage the O2C Process:
  • Transform and manage all aspects of the order to cash (O2C) cycle, including sales order management, billing, and cash application
  • Develop policies and procedures for an efficient, effective O2C process in compliance with regulations
  • Ensure billing accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Oversee collections to reduce days sales outstanding (DSO)
  • Accurately apply payments to customer accounts promptly
  • Analyze O2C metrics for informed management decisions, including DSO and cash flow
  • Maintain internal controls for the integrity of financial reports related to O2C
  • Optimize cash position and manage investment strategies
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits, ensuring tax strategy and compliance
  • Address audit findings and implement changes as recommended
  • Lead and develop the accounting team, promoting high performance, continuous improvement, and growth
  • Support financial aspects of contract negotiations
  • Participate in strategic planning as a financial advisor to the CFO and executive team, advising on financial implications of business activities and strategies
What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years in accounting/finance within SaaS or tech, with expertise in SaaS revenue recognition and deferred revenue
  • Proven success in enhancing Order to Cash processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA preferred
  • Proficient in financial software, especially NetSuite for subscription-based billing
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP for software/subscription businesses
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Effective communicator across all organizational levels and with external parties
  • Experienced in managing audits, budgeting, and internal controls
  • Strategic thinker, adept at simplifying complex financial data for insights
  • Proven track record in leading and developing high-performing teams
