This strong foundational belief is encompassed and supported by the legislation and regulations highlighted in "The Residents' Rights" and the "Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021".About the JobReporting to the Director of Nursing, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a primary care provider to residents and works within their legislative scope of practice as described and outlined by the College of Nurses Ontario. The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with the resident and family/care giver, along with the health care team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the resident's plan of care. This position also provides leadership and mentorship to the LTCH staff and leads and collaborates with research, education, and evidence-based practice initiatives. This role is responsible for directing and maintaining the highest standard in delivering excellent resident-focused care as required by the Ministry of Long-Term Care. The incumbent's responsibilities include supporting and leading the nursing division and recommending improvements to efficient utilization of human and physical resources. The incumbent will ensure that continuous quality improvement outcomes approved for the division are met or exceeded, and demonstrate dedication to professional values and the mission, vision, and values of long-term care.Salary & BenefitsLocation

Health & Wellness Committee ActivitiesRequirementsMaster's degree with studies in Nursing and/or Geriatrics.
Current Certificate of Competence in good standing as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
3 years of previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
1 year of previous experience in a supervisory role in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care facilities.
Exceptional documentation and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain lasting working relationships.
Demonstrated time management skills.
Effective leadership skills, with a focus on teaching and coaching.
Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems.
