Job Description:Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Structural Engineer. Reporting to the Department Manager, Civil, Structural & Architectural, this position is located in our Saskatoon, SK office.   • Provide structural design and technical support including calculations, weld design, design drawing review, field investigations, and solutions for the construction or repair of industrial buildings, facilities, and services.
  • Write specifications and contract documents.
  • Review project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation, including checking for technical accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain positive, sustainable client relationships.
  • Coordinate and working with project team members
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 - 8 years experience working on mining and/or heavy industrial projects is an asset
  • Registered or have the ability to register as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the province of Saskatchewan.
  • Broad scope knowledge of structural designs and an understanding of industry codes, standards, and construction methods.
  • Material design experience, which may include experience in the use of structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and/or wood.
  • Previous experience using SAP2000 is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented and a creative thinker.
  • Demonstrates cooperation and decision-making abilities.
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
