- Managing employment regulation and compliance research projects
- Reviewing and analyzing wage calculations, tax deductions, and reports to ensure compliance with federal and Provincial laws in Canada.
- Testing our products on an ongoing basis, identifying, and documenting problems, and building plans to address them.
- Directing and planning the day-to-day operations of all group benefits programs (including extended health and dental, disability and worker's compensation plans, life insurance, travel and accident plan, and retirement plan). This role is also responsible for providing excellent customer service, investigating new benefits programs, recommending improvements to existing programs, assisting in the design of employee benefits plans and providing analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefit programs.
- This role is onsite.
- Are super comfortable navigating payroll software's and able to identify compliance gaps within them, including what does and doesn't work, so that you can confidently advise on improvements to be made within our own software.
- Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration. Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes. Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
- Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans.
- Have interest and respect for employment rules and regulations as well as eagerness to innovate and drive the industry forward.
- Are proactive in your approach to regulation changes and solutions.
- Have exceptional communication skills. Our teams are very collaborative and work closely together, we need someone who is comfortable partnering and communicating with both technical and non-technical team members.
- Are highly organized and focused with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- 5+ years of payroll experience working in either payroll processing, employment tax filings, or a prior payroll compliance research role and employee benefits administration experience required.
- Knowledge of all pertinent government regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefits.
- Experience in a software development environment a plus.
- Knowledge of UKG/ UKG-Pro applications is valuable asset.
- Provide functional expertise, coordination of activities in the functional design and delivery of the project.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of Canadian employment rules and regulations.
- PCP, Certification preferred, or enrolled.
- Very good knowledge of MS Office suite (Word/Excel),
- Analytical skills, supported by strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to absorb new technologies and product features quickly.
- Understand software product configuration and concepts in implementation.
