Trouw Nutrition is hiring… Buyer Feed Ingredients and Packaging to join our teamMicro Buyer of Feed Ingredients with Mineral, Medications & Packaging will be responsible for managing all local feed ingredient vendor relationships for Trouw Nutrition BU NA in, as well as TN US and managing packaging across North America. This position will play a key role in gathering local market information, setting raw material market costs, establishing new vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance of global projects and initiatives. Some travel is required.Job Description:A DAY IN THE LIFE of our Buyer Feed Ingredients and Packaging
You will work closely with the supply chain team within the region and national supply point to maintain a balanced level ingredients and packaging at each plant whist ensuring working capital objectives are met; Ensure daily reports are run, reviewed, and followed-up upon, accurately and in a timely manner; Actively contribute to achieving the overall business goals and keep management current on new opportunities and positions.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Identify, initiate and coordinate procurement improvement projects with the main objective to generate cost savings in direct spend categories while working with national and global MTE ingredient team.
  • Report market trends and supplier analysis across the regions as a basis to identify opportunities.
  • Become a key user of existing benchmarking tools and reports in our internal systems to measure procurement performance, vendor performance, and contract management.
  • Responsible for the successful implementation and upkeep of key priorities/projects such as Payment Term Optimization, Supplier Code of Conduct, etc.
  • Establish and manage regional key supplier relationships and related purchase agreements.
  • Participate with global and NA leads on developing feed ingredient and supplier specific strategies.
  • Responsible for the overall local relationship management of our regional medicated feed additive vendors and participate in the annual strategic meetings.
  • Further, develop all packaging programs through the understanding of the manufacturing process, establishing new vendor contacts, leveraging spend, and optimizing packaging requirements.
  • Create and provide specific ingredient pricing for competitive RFQ bid processes.
  • Agreement management for supplier ingredients.
  • Monthly update of RMMC and provide insight into the EAAC monthly calls.
  • Invoice approvals and reconciliations for PO’s
  • Packaging life cycle accountability (labels, dies changes, communication with marketing on artwork changes, etc.)
  • Document Strategic Supplier meetings and compliance in the SRM system as a key user.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • College Graduate with minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent year of Procurement experience
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Computer skills in work processing, spreadsheet applications, presentation applications and email programs
  • Ability to quickly prioritize individual responsibilities and effectively manage time;
  • Analytical skills with high attention to detail;
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment;
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to collaborate as a team player in a cross-functional management structure;
  • Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills;
  • Can work well under pressure and respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
