- Leading a team of engineers and technologists across a portfolio of projects within our In Situ market segment
- Assures compliance with Engineering Procedures and quality control standards
- Support in the development of estimates for engineering work
- Completing progress reporting, attending project meetings and providing workhour forecasts
- Interfacing with various engineering disciplines and suppliers.
- Providing input to process for P&ID development
- Reviewing, specifying and validating sizing for field instrumentation (Pres/Temp/Flow/Level), Control Valves, on/off valves and PSV's
- Prepare and review control deliverables such as Control Narrative, Cause and Effect diagram, and Control system architecture
- Participate in HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL reviews
- Reviewing and approving Instrument Loop diagrams as well as System cabinet design / wiring
- Reviewing project documents for scope, presentation and technical accuracy.
- Reviewing and validation of Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations and award recommendations for various equipment within instrumentation and controls.
- Review and approval of various Instrument lists (Index, I/O list, I/O assignments, Load list, etc)
- Have frequent contact with vendors, and internal staff
- Providing technical support in SAT/FAT's
- Instrumentation Technologist / Bachelors in Science, Engineering from an accredited University or College.
- Minimum of 8+ yrs. Industry experience
- Understanding and familiarity of API, ASME, CSA and ISA codes and directives.
- Experience in the oil and gas sector such as: Well Pads, SAGD, In Situ or pipeline gathering
- Ability to problem-solve effectively
- Has the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in the use of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI/Intools) is an asset.
- Registration through APEGA as a P.ENG/P.L. (ENG)
