ROLE DESCRIPTION:
- COBOL and IMS Developer
- Contribute as an expert COBOL-IMS developer in solutioning the Integration needs of legacy mainframe/UNIKIX based business systemsRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
- Is accountable for analyzing, documenting, developing, testing, implementing and supporting business/system solutions that will contribute to the organization's ability to achieve its Integration goals;
- Leads and contributes to the analysis of organizational needs for the development and implementation of applicationsQualifications:
THE REQUIREMENTS (skills contractor should have):
- University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Science or equivalent practical experience;
- Required: 5+ years' experience in Cobol, IMS, DB2, JCL, CICS, Unit Testing,
- Proven expertise in Analysis and Problem Solving; coupled with supporting complex, integrated systems;
- Experience in diagnosing, isolating and debugging software problems;
- Knowledge of programing best practices and Testing Strategies;
- Ability to learn new systems quickly and independentlyTHE WORK PRODUCTS (systems/work products contractor will use):
- Applications built in COBOL-IMS and COBOL-DB2 applications;
- DB2 Queries - IBM Data Studio
- Linux Systems
- JIRA, Q-Test
