- Inspecting trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment, in a fleet environment, for proper performance.
- Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment.
- Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.
- Repairing damaged equipment parts.
- Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty and automotive vehicles.
- Repairing and servicing machine attachments.
- Performing major repair work when necessary.
- Consulting with other Mechanics and Supervisor when needed.
- Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.
- Actively participate in the compliance of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience and be signed up with the Alberta Apprenticeship Board.
- Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Apprenticeship Documentation.
- Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- Understanding of computer testing technologies.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, and construction equipment.
- Must have a Class 5 driver’s license with own transportation.
- CVIP license preferred.
- Ability to work after-hours if required.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be able to work unsupervised on heavy trucks and equipment.
- Preference will be given to Red Seal Journeyman.
