Duties:
- Operate industrial scale protein (meat) processing machinery used to blend, mix and emulsify meat into final food products.
- Travel overnight 90% throughout Canada (Monday-Friday) to food plants to demonstrate, train and educate meat processing machinery on proper processing techniques and operations.
- Be responsible for Installation and operation of machinery of food processing machinery. Adjust controls and settings to adapt to customers plant specifications.
- Create documentation/reports of customers food processing operations
- Assess clients' needs, recommend or assist in the selection of appropriate goods or services
- Provide side by side training to customers on the operation of food processing machinery.
- Educate fellow Reiser employees and customers on proper process for formulating protein and plant-based products.
- Attend Trade Shows Nationally and International to demonstrate machinery
- Travel internationally for meetings and training as required.
- Provide input into product design where goods or services must be tailored to suit clients' needs
- Consult with clients after sale to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support
- Troubleshoot technical problems related to equipment
- May supervise the activities of other technical staff and sales specialists.
- Certificate, diploma or advanced training as a butcher is required.
- 5+ years experience working in meat processing industry.
- 2+ years experience working in the meat/protein production (dried meats, cured meats, specialty meats), for production scale/commercial use.
- 2+ years as a Butcher or Master Butcher.
- Prior experience supervising food processing employees in a protein (meat) plant environment, teaching/training/demonstrating food processing employees or teaching/training in a culinary setting is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel 90% overnight during the week (Monday to Friday) throughout Canada in addition to periodic international trips (mostly Germany).
- Experience with VEMAG Meat Stuffing Machinery is required.
