Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Manager, Mental Health & Addictions, or designate, the Occupational Therapist, Mental Health & Addictions, functions as a member of the Mental Health & Addictions Program and the multi-disciplinary team, participating in the planning, development, provision and evaluation of Mental Health & Addictions.The Occupational Therapist exhibits sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the framework and objectives of the Mental Health & Addictions and the Mission, Vision and Strategic Directions and incorporates into daily practice the Core Competencies and Values of the organization.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of an accredited University Program in Occupational Therapy.
- Eligible for membership in the Canadian Occupational Therapy Association.
- Eligible for registration to practice Occupational Therapy in Nova Scotia.
- One year experience as an Occupational Therapist, with at least one year (recent) within the last five, in an inpatient/outpatient Mental Health & Addiction setting will be considered
- Experience in the development of collaborative partnerships and initiatives with other agencies and community stakeholders..
- Ability to provide effective Addiction & Mental Health/Occupational Therapy assessment.
- Demonstrated commitment to pursue continuing education to maintain or enhance professional knowledge.
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness and organizational health.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with patients/residents, families, other health care providers and staff, demonstrating sensitivity, empathy and warmth.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
- Permanent Full Time position; 75 Hours Bi Weekly
